LOGLINE: The CIA’s deadliest agent uncovers a plot by an ancient secret society that can wipe out any ethnic group off the face of the Earth. 

Black Salt is a PG-13 martial arts feature film franchise for worldwide distribution. Our tale begins in 1985, deep in the timeless forest of Dengfeng, China, the beating heart of Shaolin martial arts.  Arrogant in his own skill and power, a ruthless monk KALI ZHANG murders a fellow monastery worker and is banished for his crime.   Fleeing his nemesis, an honorable monk by the name of YU BAI SHEK, Kali Zhang hides in the cities and founds his criminal organization, the deadly Zhang Triad. Yu Bai Shek loses Kali’s trail and instead runs across a young African-American boy and his mother just as they’re assaulted by common street thugs. The Shaolin master saves the boy, but the mother tragically dies from an accidental knife stab to the heart.   Filled with compassion, and acting against his sacred traditions, Master Yu resolves to raise and train the newly orphaned boy. The boy’s name is SAMUAL LINCOLN THARPE.

Fast forward to the present day.  Now working for the CIA’s Special Activities Division, Sam leads a team of Special Forces on a raid to post-Soviet era Moldova where they clash with an unidentified group of Chinese and recover a mysterious device known only as THE EXTERMINATUS.   Intelligence chatter indicates this bomb is the Holy Grail of terrorism, a biological WMD carrying a retro-virus capable of something no disease in history is capable of…genetically discriminating between ethnic groups and wiping them out.  Even worse, the bomb is ticking with no way to safely stop it.  It will detonate in four days.  Intelligence sources say the creators simply call themselves THE MAKERS.  

In that raid, Sam killed a man named RIN ZHANG, none other than the son of Kali Zhang. Enraged over his son’s death and starving for the power of the Exterminatus, Kali unleashes the full fury of the Zhang Triad.  His henchmen lead simultaneous raids on both the CIA base to steal back the bomb and Sam’s home to slay his family. The weapon is reacquired by Kali, and one of Sam’s sons killed by Kali’s assassins.
